Are there ATM machines at the Mellon Arena?
A.
Yes, there are three machines. On the main concourse, one is just outside of the Igloo Club on the west side of the building and one is outside of the East Igloo Lounge. The third is outside the building at the Gate #1 Box Office.
Q.How can I get back-stage passes to an event?
A.The Mellon Arena does not supply nor have access to back-stage passes.
Q.How do I get a Birthday/Anniversary announced at an event?
A.Birthday/Anniversary announcements can be made on the JumboTron during hockey games only.  All requests must be submitted online at least 48 hours prior to the game time.  A $20 donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation is required.   Announcements are displayed during the first intermission with a public address announcement highlighting the beginning of the display.  Click here to learn more or to submit your request.

 

Q.What are the Box Office hours?
A.The Mellon Arena Box Office is open Monday - Friday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., closed and Saturday and Sunday - and open on event days until 8 pm.
Q.Can I use a credit card at the Box Office?
A.Yes; the Mellon Arena Box Office accepts cash and credit cards.
Q.How do I purchase group tickets?
A.Group discounted tickets are available to all family shows and some concerts at the Mellon Arena. To inquire about group tickets please call 412-642-1977.
Q.What is Ticketmaster's phone number?

Q.Where is the Box Office and Will-Call/Ticket Pick-up located?
A.Both the Mellon Arena Box Office as well as the Will-Call window are located at Gate #1. Gate #1 can be most easily accessed via Centre Avenue or Mario Lemieux Place.
Q.Does Mellon Arena accept fan mail or gifts for artists that perform there?
A.Mellon Arena will not accept any gifts or fan mail for anyone that performs here. All mail and gifts will be discarded.
Q.Are Cameras or Video Cameras permitted in the Arena?
A.Cameras are permitted into Mellon Arena for Pittsburgh Penguins hockey games and most events. If allowed, Mellon Arena building policy allows only small personal still camera (preferably disposable) equipped with 3 inch lens or smaller be brought into the Arena. Cameras with detachable lenses or flashes are not permitted. Video, audio and professional camera and recording devices are strictly prohibited in the Arena.

For all other events, camera policies will vary. Please check the individual event page for further information.

Q.Does my child need a ticket?
A.For most events, children under the age of two are not required to have a ticket. However, should you wish for your child to have their own seat, a ticket is required. Shows intended for a younger audience (i.e., Sesame Street Live, The Wiggles) require that children over the age of one have a ticket. Check the specific event page on this website to be certain.
Q.I am bringing a bus to the show; where do we park?
A.Call Mellon Arena Group Services with questions or to reserve bus parking space - 412-642-1977.
Q.We have tickets to a school matinee, what if school is canceled?
A.Should school be canceled in your district on the day of a school show you planned to attend, please contact Group Services immediately at 412-642-1977 for policy information.
Q.How do I redeem a coupon for tickets?
A.All coupons, ticket vouchers, or free passes can be redeemed at the Mellon Arena Box Office ONLY. They cannot be used at Ticketmaster Ticket Centers or charge-by-phone.
Q.The concert I have tickets to has been canceled. Now what do I do?
A.If the show has been rescheduled and you still plan to attend, hold onto your existing tickets; they will be honored for the rescheduled performance. If, however, you do not plan to attend the rescheduled event or it has not been rescheduled, please check the event's page on this website for information on how to obtain a refund.
Q.Can I bring food into the Arena?
A.Patrons may not bring food into the Arena. However, there are concession stands available throughout the building.
Q.Where is accessible parking located at the Mellon Arena?
A.Accessible parking is available in both the South and East parking lots. These lots can be accessed via Centre Avenue.
Q.I am disabled; where is the best place for me to enter the Mellon Arena?
A.Although all entrances are accessible, the most accessible entrance to the Mellon Arena is Gate #1. It is possible to be dropped off at Gate #1 via Mario Lemieux Place.
Q.How do I purchase accessible seating?
A.Accessible seating is available at the Mellon Arena for all events. When purchasing tickets, please mention that you are in need of accessible seating so that we may assist with special arrangements.
Q.What is the closest hotel to the Mellon Arena?
A.The Marriot City Center, the offical hotel of Mellon Arena and the Pittsburgh Penguins, is located directly across the street from the Mellon Arena. The Doubletree, Omni William Penn and the Westin are also close. Check our lodging & restaraunts page for details.
Q.What time can I enter the building?
A.Generally, the doors for all events at the Mellon Arena open one hour prior to show time.
Q.How can I gain access to the East or West Igloo Lounges?
A.The East and West Igloo Lounges are open only to patrons with tickets in the East or West Igloo sections. These lounges are accessible via the concourse for the East Lounge and via Gate #3 for the West Lounge.
Q.Where is the Igloo Club?
A.The Igloo Club is located at Gate #3 at the Mellon Arena. Patrons can enter via Gate #3 or from the concourse near the West Igloo seating area.
Q.How do I join the Igloo Club?
A.To be eligible for membership to the Igloo Club, an individual must be a Penguins season ticket holder. The membership year starts annually on September 1. Pennsylvania Liquor Law dictates that only individuals may be listed as members. Corporations, partnerships, or other such entities cannot hold memberships.
Q.What is the lottery system used by the Mellon Arena /Ticketmaster for concert ticket sales?
A.The lottery system is a method by which numbers are passed out to people one hour prior to the on-sale. Once everyone has received a number, a corresponding number is drawn. The person holding the matching number is then first in line to purchase tickets to the show. Everyone then lines up in # order. For example, if 5 numbers are passed out and # 3 is drawn, the line would be 3-4-5-1-2. This method is used to avoid people sleeping out or arriving for an on-sale hours before it is scheduled.

Q.How much is parking for an event?
A.Event parking rates differ for each Mellon Arena event. Check the event page for that event's rate.
Q.Is smoking permitted in the Mellon Arena?
A.The Mellon Arena is a smoke-free facility. However, designated smoking areas outside the building are located off the main concourse on the west side of the building at sections B18 and B30.
Q.What is Tag-A-Kid?
A.Patrons bringing small children to Mellon Arena for an event should visit the SMG Information Booth for their child's Tag-A-Kid wristband. The wristband includes both the child's and parent's names and seat locations. In the event that a child should be separated from their family, the event staff will have an easy time of reuniting them.
Q.Does the Mellon Arena donate tickets to charities?
A.Interested organizations must provide a letter on official organization letterhead to the Marketing Department. Once the letter is received, it is forwarded on to the promoter for that specific show. Donation requests should be forwarded to Marketing Dept., Mellon Arena, 66 Mario Lemieux Place, Pgh, PA 15219. Not all requests can be fulfilled, but group discounts are available.
Q.Can Hockey Sticks or Flag Poles be brought into the arena?
A.No. Patrons are permitted to bring in poster/flags, however you may not display these items using a pole of any kind.

A.SMG is a private Philadelphia-based management company which manages the Mellon Arena on behalf of the Public Auditorium Authority of the City of Pittsburgh. Go there - SMG.
